Three of Saint-Gobain's Top Products from MU-Weber Have Passed Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Test
(Singapore, August 4, 2020) At the beginning of the month of independence in Indonesia, Setsco Services Pte Ltd based in Singapore has issued an official test report stating that 3 of top products from Saint-Gobain MU-Weber, namely; MU-400 GranitFix, MU-380 ThinBedMAX and, MU-200 SkimWall are categorized as Low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) products because they have been tested to have very low, even almost non-existent, VOC content. This is of course important for Saint-Gobain MU-Weber, as a manifestation of concern for the health of all consumers and users of its products, which follow the values that the company holds firmly: We Care.
An environmental protection agency in America; The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) as all components of organic chemicals (excluding methane gas, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, metal carbides, and ammonium carbonate) which can evaporate and pollute the air, both at during the production process, application and use until it has been shaped into a finished product used by consumers. Therefore, the VOC content is very important to be paid attention to because if the products we use have very high VOC content, of course, it can endanger the health of its users.
In addition to the definition from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) itself, they state that there are several health problems that can be occurred if users of those building material products breathe in excess VOC content that has been accumulated in the air. Health problems that can occur include irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, dizziness, loss of balance and nausea, liver, kidney, and central nervous system damage, and cancer if the VOC content we breathe has accumulated in very large amounts. In addition, it is not only harmful to human health, waste, and evaporation residue from products that have high VOC content can also have negative impacts on the environment, such as contributing to global warming.
